The 2012 Gender Spectrum Family Conference
Think Outside the Boxes:
Expanding Our Understanding of Gender
July 13 - 15, 2012 in Berkeley, CA
The Gender Spectrum Family Conference is a celebration of gender inclusiveness for all children and teens. Last summer's event brought together more than 450 parents, children, youth, professionals and others committed to a gender inclusive environment for all young people. With more than 30 workshops for adults, extensive programming for teens, a specifically tailored tween program, and our incredible Kids Camp, it was an inspiring weekend. This year's event, the sixth annual family conference, promises to be even more spectacular!
Our theme for this year's conference, Think Outside the Boxes: Expanding Our Understanding of Gender, is focused on recognizing the truly diverse nature of gender. This includes gender beyond the binary, as well as the intersection of gender with other concepts and identities, including race, religion, culture, language, history society, and more.
Send us your workshop proposals for
The 2012 Gender Spectrum Family Conference!
We are seeking workshops for the adult conference, along with our two teen tracks (ages 13 - 15 and 16 - 19) and the tween program (ages 9-12). In addition to critical areas such as law, medicine, mental health, and education, we are also looking for proposals that speak directly to this year's "Think Outside the Boxes" theme.
