Gender Spectrum hosts free online groups for pre-teens, teens, parents, caregivers, and other family members and adults. These groups provide you with the opportunity to connect with others, share experiences, and feel the comfort of a supportive community.

Groups for Pre-Teens and Teens
Teens (ages 13-19)
Join our online teen groups to meet others in a relaxed space! You can join by video, audio, or chat. Our teen discussion groups are facilitated by trained volunteers who have navigated gender in their own lives. These groups are a safe space to share as much or as little as you want. Ask questions, just listen in or chat and make new friends!
Pre-Teens (ages 10-12)
Want to meet other pre-teens who are also interested in gender? Join this online group to hang out, talk about gender, and make new friends! As one parent said, “This group is a great way to give a child community while still in the low-pressure environment of their own home, and they can choose to be as verbal or as quiet as they feel comfortable with. We can’t wait for the next series.” Pre-teens can join with video, audio, chat, or even just by calling in -- adult facilitators oversee every group.
A parent or guardian must register your pre-teen for the group. If you are an adult who is not a parent or guardian and you would like to register a pre-teen for our group, please contact us at [email protected] and use the subject line, "Pre-teen Group Request" and we will get back to you.
For pre-teens who have not previously participated in our groups, parents can register your pre-teen here - you will be asked to fill out a short form, sign and date it, then scan and return it to us. Please click the link below to begin.
If your pre-teen has participated before and you have filled out a parental verification and content form, you may register your pre-teen online, click the link below.

Facilitators Support Group
Our Facilitators Group is for anyone who runs a group that serves youth and/or families and who wants to learn about issues related to gender and youth. Understandings of gender are changing rapidly, and your group participants may have many challenging questions! The monthly Facilitators Group is a confidential setting where you can get sensible, up-to-date answers to all of your questions about gender. You can submit questions anonymously ahead of time, or raise your questions during the meeting. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other group leaders to share ideas and experiences. The group meets on a teleconference call on the first Thursday of every month from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm PT/2:00 pm to 3:00 pm ET. You can participate by phone, chat or online video.
The Gender Spectrum Lounge offers online connections between group meetings. There are Lounge groups for parents, youth, and professionals.
