2017 Gender Spectrum Events
Gender Spectrum will host the following events this summer:
Gender Spectrum Professionals’ Symposium – Friday, July 21 – California State University, East Bay in Hayward, CA
Gender Spectrum Conference – Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 – Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga, CA
La Conferencia Anual de Gender Spectrum – Sábado 22 de julio y Domingo 23 de julio – Universidad de Saint Mary en Moraga, California
This year’s theme for the conference is “Seen, Safe and Supported”. We chose this because with the increased attention regarding gender diversity, the real, lived experience of Transgender, Non-binary and otherwise Gender-expansive children and youth’s lives can get lost. This weekend is a place to come together, to be seen, to learn, to share our experiences and to gain support from one another. Whether you are attending for the first time or returning to the conference, you will find respite in a community who sees, supports and welcomes you as you are.
The Conference is a place where transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive young people and their families can come together to learn, be supported, and connect with others in a safe and reassuring environment. The Symposium provides professionals with the latest information and tools needed to further help the young people we support feel seen and safe in all environments.
Online registration for the 2017 events will open in February. Stay tuned for future event updates by signing up for emails from Gender Spectrum.

These events would not be possible without the generous support of our event partners. Please show your support in every way you can to the individuals and organizations listed below. For more information about national and event sponsorship, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interested in Volunteering?
We need volunteers to support both the Professionals’ Symposium and Conference. A wide variety of roles is available, including helping families register, providing support to workshop presenters, implementing fun activities for youth, general logistics support, and more! Last year, these events were made possible with the dedication of 130+ volunteers.
It’s important to us to have volunteers who bring diverse perspectives in terms of: race and ethnicity, Gender identity and expression; socioeconomic background; age; language; and other areas. We welcome people from underrepresented backgrounds to apply.
For questions about volunteering, contact email@example.com.
